UpLao Agricultural Innovation amongst the hill tribes of northern Laos

Creating sustainable livelihoods for the upland people of northern Laos by growing organic high quality coffee.

We are setting up small organic coffee plantations in the upland areas of northern Laos using high quality varieties only. Working with several ethnic tribes we teach farmers about organic farming and coffee cultivation. We grow coffee in agroforestry systems which are enriched with several fruit and nut species.

Soon we will be serving their coffees to coffee appreciators all over. Coffee straight from the farmer that doesn’t serve the pockets of some large cooperation but comes to the benefit of us all!

Key aspects of this project include:

-Sustainable agriculture: Organic coffee, fruit (avocado, persimmon and indigenous bananas), cardamom and macadamia
-Ecotourism development
