It became known where the leader of the Afghan militia Ahmad Masood is
Kabir Wasik, a former deputy governor of the northern province of Panjshir, told where the leader of the Afghan militia Ahmad Masood is.
The leader of the Afghan National Resistance Front, which opposes the Taliban movement that seized power in the country, Ahmad Masood, is currently in Tajikistan. This was announced by the representative of the militia, the former deputy governor of the northern province of Panjshir Kabir Wasik, reports TASS.
“Ahmad Masood is currently in Tajikistan, but sometimes visits Afghanistan, where he holds meetings with resistance units in various regions of the country,” the representative of the militia said.
According to him, Masood is currently trying to enlist the support of various states in opposing the Taliban militants.
“Masood is trying to convince the countries of the region and the international community as a whole of the need to fight the Taliban. He travels to different countries in order to draw attention [to the National Resistance Front] and get support,” Vasik said.
The former deputy governor noted that the front has good relations with Tajikistan, which “has always provided substantial assistance to the Afghan people in the fight against the Taliban and continues to do so now.”
On September 23, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, speaking at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, called for elections in Afghanistan and the creation of a comprehensive government with the participation of representatives of all ethnic groups, including Afghan Tajiks.
